Fix: Exception handling during fetching of hostname

Handle the exception so that if there is a failure in getting
the hostname from hostnamed service, control should move ahead
and parse the routes and fetch the gateway etc.

To Build

To build this package, do the following steps:

    1. ./bootstrap.sh
    2. ./configure ${CONFIGURE_FLAGS}
    3. make

To clean the repository run `./bootstrap.sh clean`.
