| 6 | This edition of the Multics software materials and documentation is |
| 7 | provided and donated to Massachusetts Institute of Technology by Group |
| 8 | BULL including BULL HN Information Systems Inc. as a contribution to |

| 17 | Professor Fernando Jose Corbato. Users consider that Multics provided the |
| 18 | best software architecture for managing computer hardware properly and |
| 19 | for executing programs. Many subsequent operating systems incorporated |
| 20 | Multics principles. Multics was distributed in 1975 to 2000 by Group |
| 21 | Bull in Europe , and in the U.S. by Bull HN Information Systems Inc., as |
| 22 | successor in interest by change in name only to Honeywell Bull Inc. and |
| 23 | Honeywell Information Systems Inc. . |
